Global Telecom Operator VEON Signs Ten-Year Artificial Intelligence Deal with Amdocs
Amsterdam, Wednesday, 7 October 2026.
VEON has partnered with Amdocs in a ten-year deal to modernize Eurasian telecom infrastructure using artificial intelligence, building on digital services that currently drive 27% of VEON’s total revenue.
Transforming Eurasian Telecom Infrastructure
Under the newly announced 10-year strategic agreement, digital network operator VEON Ltd. has partnered with software vendor Amdocs (NASDAQ: DOX) to run and modernize its IT infrastructure across Eurasia, specifically focusing on Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan [1][2]. This long-term commercial deal, announced on October 7, 2026, aims to transition VEON’s operations toward intelligent agentic autonomy and accelerate its digital operator services [1]. VEON currently serves over 150 million connectivity customers and more than 228 million digital customers across five countries [1][3].
Leveraging QazCode and Agentic AI
A core element of the partnership is the integration of technology and intellectual property from QazCode, a VEON subsidiary, into Amdocs’ specialized telecom operating system, known as aOS [1][2]. QazCode, which serves as the exclusive digital partner of Beeline Kazakhstan, employs over 750 staff members and has eight years of experience in telecom software, business support systems (BSS) implementation, and private Large Language Model (LLM) development [1]. This collaboration will allow the partners to build private LLMs and leverage telecommunications-specific AI to transform customer experiences [2].
