Shinhan Bank Partners With StoneX to Expand Global Money Transfers for 29 Million Customers
Seoul, Friday, 31 July 2026.
South Korea’s Shinhan Bank has entered a strategic partnership with StoneX Payments, effective July 29, 2026, to overhaul its international payment capabilities. The agreement grants Shinhan’s 29 million retail and corporate clients direct access to StoneX’s institutional-grade network, which spans over 385 banks across 180 countries and covers more than 140 currencies. Most intriguing is the platform’s ability to facilitate seamless local currency settlement and last-mile delivery in notoriously hard-to-reach emerging and frontier markets across Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. By routing complex international transactions directly through StoneX’s infrastructure rather than multiple intermediary banks, Shinhan aims to significantly reduce transaction costs and processing times for multinational corporations and exporters. The integration, celebrating StoneX’s 20th year in Asia, is rolling out in phases over the coming months.
