UK Port Operator Partners With Chinese Manufacturer to Boost European Offshore Wind Supply Chains
London, Friday, 21 August 2026.
Scottish developer Haventus and China’s Dajin Heavy Industry have agreed to combine Scottish port facilities with Chinese manufacturing to strengthen European offshore wind logistics and foundation supply networks.
Infrastructure and Capability Integration
The MoU will explore how Dajin’s manufacturing and transport capabilities can be combined with Ardersier’s extensive port facilities to support both fixed and floating wind customers and projects across the offshore wind sector [2][3]. With extensive quayside land, deep-water access and a high-voltage power connection, the port has been developed to support the manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and storage of large scale structures for offshore wind and other energy-related projects [2][4]. Dajin manufactures and fabricates foundation structures for both fixed and floating offshore wind projects and operates its own fleet of specialist King vessels [2][6].
Strategic Market Implications
The partnership aims to provide an integrated supply chain solution for offshore wind developers, supporting renewable energy projects and strengthening industry activity across the UK and Europe [1][4]. Ardersier Port’s scale and location make it a natural fit as Dajin brings logistics capability closer to European offshore wind projects [1][2]. No specific timeline or completion dates were provided for the exploration phase of the MoU, indicating an ongoing assessment period [6][8].
